Our Work
Designed To Make A Difference
Our client wanted to redesign its longest running, most successful home security panel, but did not have the internal design resources to accomplish the job. Primordial Soup worked closely with Digi Wireless Services, providing the industrial design and mechanical engineering resources to get the job done. The goal was to create a slim line, high-tech modern aesthetic that would fit in every home, but would also reflect the innovative nature of their new offering. Psoup developed a very compact, but feature-laden design, taking the design from marker sketches to CAD to production tooling, and participating in pilot product runs of the injection-molded housing parts in China.
Galil had an initial industrial design concept for their new multi-platform ablation cart, but the usability needed to be improved and validated, and it needed to be manufacturable. Psoup designers and engineers worked together to maintain the original design intent, while improving ergonomics, usability and redesigning for cost-effective manufacturing. Once the general design and manufacturing direction had been developed, Psoup fabricated multiple full-scale prototypes for validation testing with users and performance testing. Psoup engineers then worked closely Galil and the cart manufacturer to optimize the design for production, including providing production drawings and vendor support.

The Bair Hugger system is a convective temperature management system used in a hospital or surgery center to maintain a patient's core body temperature.
The Nonin 3230 Bluetooth® Smart Pulse Oximeter is the first finger pulse oximeter with Bluetooth Smart wireless technology. The 3230 features an easy-to-read display and long battery life (up to 2,200 spot checks on two AAA batteries). Psoup was responsible for initial user studies, industrial design exploration and refinement, and mechanical engineering.
QuickCheck Health is developing rapid over the counter home diagnostic tests for common illnesses such as strep throat, urinary tract infection and many others. Once a consumer tests positive, they can immediately launch an online clinic visit. A clinician then reviews the visit and, if appropriate, a prescription is sent to your pharmacy. Test at home, treat online, it’s that simple.
Psoup created a disposable device, with a $10 cost, that beat a $2000 lab device in repeatability and sensitivity, while contending with a variety of environmental issues such as IR.
Psoup was in charge of industrial design, electrical, software and mechanical engineering, as well as packaging, labeling, verification and validation.
